Hi, I am Luke Hibiki Kealaula Tanaka. I have been at Maui Hui Malama for about seven years. I like being in the Youth Entrepreneurship Program because it’s fun to sell stuff. I also like that I can use my drawing skills. Someday I want to be a game coder and make my own video games.
Something I love about Maui is that I can go to different places like Haleakala and Iao Valley and VFW Beach where I can go torching at night for tako. I also like that we can get different things to make food from different places.
These two designs are mine. One is my Cute Kiwikiu that I did as an oil painting, and the other is my Happy Rainbow that is two friends just chilling and having a good time together.

“Cute Kiwikiu is a painting I did during an art class at Maui Hui Mālama the summer after I finished 4th grade. Even though I entered it into an art competition but didn’t get into the show, it’s one of my favorite paintings. I love the way the kiwikiu sound when they sing happily. We have to take care of our forests and make sure the kiwikiu don’t go extinct.”
